Product Description

Function of Down The Hole Drill Bits:

Down The Hole drill bits function by utilizing compressed air or other drilling fluids to power the drilling process. The operation of DTH drill bits can be summarized in the following steps:

1. Impact: The compressed air or drilling fluid is directed down the drill string to the DTH hammer, which delivers high-impact energy to the drill bit.

2. Rotation: As the drill bit strikes the rock formation, it rotates rapidly to create a borehole. The combination of impact and rotation allows the drill bit to penetrate the rock efficiently.

3. Cutting: The sharp cutting edges of the DTH drill bit chip away at the rock, generating cuttings that are flushed out of the borehole by the drilling fluid.

4. Advancement: The drill string is gradually fed into the borehole as the drilling progresses, allowing the DTH drill bit to reach the desired depth.

5. Extraction: Once the drilling is complete, the drill string is retracted, and the DTH drill bit is removed from the borehole, ready for the next drilling operation.
